The Cleveland Amateur Radio Club will sponsor another in a series of introductory sessions to acquaint the public with amateur radio.
The meeting will be held at the J.D. Slaughter Clubhouse on September 28th, 2019. They will help anyone — of any age — interested in pursuing communications as a hobby or means of assisting local emergency services.
The CARC was formed in 1962 and has kept close ties with the Cleveland/Bradley County Emergency Management Agency during situations that require additional communications support.
During the session on September 28th, anyone not familiar with amateur radio is invited to attend to learn more about licensing requirements and the many aspects of enjoyment it offers.
The session will be held from 9AM until 11AM in the George R. Johnson meeting room. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions during the session, according to Reggie McCarn, one of the club members involved in the project.
The clubhouse is located at 560 Johnson Boulevard in East Cleveland.
