The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has placed us under a SLIGHT risk for severe weather today and tonight. This is one step above MARGINAL (which we saw recently), but below ENHANCED.

It bears noting, however, that areas to our west are under an ENHANCED risk of severe weather. That risk area extends as far east as Marion County, which is just west of Chattanooga. The transition to MARGINAL occurs just east of the Tennessee/ Georgia/ North Carolina line. Those in Cleveland, and especially in Chattanooga, should bear in mind our proximity to the ENHANCED area.
All modes of severe weather, including tornadoes, are possible as this system moves through the area. Stay weather aware this afternoon and tonight. Your NOAA Weather Radio will be your best source for watches and warnings.
