About

The Cleveland/Bradley County Scanner Feed is a conglomeration of three live audio feeds:

Bradley County Sheriff, Cleveland Police, Fire Rescue, and MAC

Launched on July 12th, 2011, this feed provides audio from various public-safety agencies in Bradley County. This feed was launched after a previous feed by the same name (the owner of which is unknown) went offline during the tornado outbreak of April 27th, 2011, and never returned. This feed carries dispatch talk groups for public safety (police, fire, etc.) in Bradley County. Tactical talk groups are not carried for the safety of our officers and first responders. Encrypted talk groups are also not carried for the same reasons (plus, it’s not possible to listen to them anyway!)

Cleveland Area Repeaters

Launched on November 17th, 2011, this feed provides audio from various amateur (ham) radio repeaters in the area. This feed includes the repeater responsible for our local SKYWARN nets, and is a good resource to listen to during times of severe weather.

Chattanooga Area NOAA Weather Radio WXK48

Launched on July 26th, 2019, this feed carries audio from WXK48, the National Weather Service’s Weather Radio for the Chattanooga area. Content for WXK48 originates from the National Weather Service office in Morristown, Tennessee. WXK48 transmits on a frequency of 162.550MHz from facilities located on Signal Mountain in Hamilton County, Tennessee. This feed is the same signal that weather alert radios use to pick up watches and warnings, and also provides forecasts, climate data, etc.

Other interesting stuff…

Over the past year, we have started adding social media presence for the scanner feed. Initially created as a way to let everyone know about updates to the scanner feed itself (maintenance, etc.), our Facebook page has evolved into somewhat of a public forum for breaking news/happenings in the area. We have also recently launched a Twitter feed, along with this website.

All audio heard on these feeds is being streamed live from scanners or other receivers located in our geographical area, through the Broadcastify service. This allows you to find the feeds on most of the scanner apps available for mobile, as well as listen via your desktop, laptop, etc.
